The scholarship program that provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the sociological perspective based on the systematic study/application of the interrelationship between the individual and larger social structural forces and institutions. Also, programs that are organized to cultivate theoretical, methodological, empirical, and critical thinking skills – central to both sociology and a broader liberal arts education – while developing a commitment to social justice and social change. The wide range of interests and methodological approaches in areas from religion to education, race/ethnicity to international development, sexualities to social program evaluation.
